L4D games feel like your hitting nothing.
Message to dumb self, uses smaller triangles to make polygons stand out, on it's own it's not much. But together with displacement mapping adds more realism to surfaces etc. Being displaced with the information in the smaller triangles. shifted up and down etc.
Can add alot to a scene if done properly.
Looks alot better with the new lighting.
And people call Resistance generic, ROFL.
I'm sure they can push it, and ollieboy yes it's a great looking game at a very low rez. That's what saddens me the most.

They are using an updated version of the same engine.
You have to remember the first game used an old engine ported to ps3. First game did not have texture streaming.
2nd game did, but not fully.
Resistance 3 has better lighting,shaders,particles.
Is the game anygood, i've seen a little play through and the a.i looked average tbh.
I thought the first game's mp was a snoozefest tbh, 2nd was better with the co-op as well. The new one gets alot of things right, movement, weapons feel like they have power, other then subhd, the graphics are better.
I would not judge the full game until you play the SP and all the other modes and maps of MP.
I voted 360, but dam that is one boring, ugly look game.
I played the demo on the 360 then on the PS3, 360's is cleaner. But the game is a mess.
Now warhammer space marine is sweet, go test that one out.

I'm actually playing through this atm, and the choice of weapons, graphics, gameplay for me is alot better then the first game, so far i'd give it an 8.5. It's not perfect! But it's bloody good.

I do agree with some of your arguments concerning GT5, B-spec, it's ok in a sense and you get to earn money to buy cars.
As for environments, mainly tree's tbh, city wise it's impressive in most ways, GT5 still commands the best lighting found in any racing game ever made, has the best smoke fx ever done in any genre. Tree's are poor, textures should have been better.
