Better quality games is a matter of opinion. Not really sure what your talking about for variety seeing how most of the ps3 exclusives this year have been shooters.
I never understood why people complain about a game getting released every year. If you don't want it, don't buy it. If your a fan of the series then you will probably be happy that you don't have to wait long to play another.
Seems to me like the ps3 has more exclusive shooters now with resistance, killzone, and socom just to name a few.
