This subject really brings the "white knight" losers out of the woodwork.
These games are harmless. End of story. And FYI there are male rape games, too, so cut the misogyny crap.
Last Remnant definitely does not deserve to be there.
Personally, I think FFVIII does. It was the one Final Fantasy that dared to be different. Even if it wasn't perfect, I enjoyed it more than any FF. FFVI and FFVII were good, but the aesthetic was still struggling. FFVIII was the first game where Final Fantasy began to develop it's own unique look and explore a new kind of gameplay.
And then we got FFIX which, for all it's good points, got a BEAT DOWN with the old-...
I agree Bungie has been slipping in the story area... I had to play Halo 3 a few times just to absorb everything as the story felt poorly told. The gameplay, however, has pretty much only gotten better and better.
With Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach, I have faith that Bungie will stretch their story-telling legs. I don't think they wanted to stay tethered to the Master Chief for this long as it has been so restrictive. Anyone who is familiar with the Haloverse knows that there are ma...
Yeah, go Bungie! I am excited to hear a new, high-quality engine is on the way.
Say what you want about the Halo 3 engine and it's flaws. Arguably a lot of bloom and relatively small-scale battlefields. It was still very beautiful. Just go to Bungie.net and look at random screenshots. It's very apparent that Bungie really works to achieve a unique look. Unlike so many shooters which are just black and grey and samey looking. Halo gets the colors going and you explore all kinds of...
I thought I just read an article saying that Infamous "won" this silly contest.
Hey, here's a question... if Infamous is really that much better as some people say, then why didn't more people rush out and buy a PS3 for it? Why did more people "settle" for Prototype? Could it be possible that the two games are almost interchangable to your average unbiased gamer? Maybe give a slight nod of quality to one or the other, but they might both exist in the same area...
Dead Space gave you tons of ammo and super-powered weapons. What's scary about that?
I think the best era of scary games is far gone (like PS1 era and back). Nowadays no one wants to do what they did, which is restrict resources and make the player weak, even to the point of being defenseless.
RE5, Dead Space, SH5... all FUN games, but hardly scary at all.
I forgot to mention that. I agree the 360 controller is my fave ever. Dualshock has always irritated my index joint after a while. Doesn't seem as ergonomic. And the sticks and trigger on the Dualshock are convex instead of concave.
But I feel lonely.
C'mon... Diablo-meets-Halo gameplay? 4-player online co-op? 2-player splitscreen? Millions of guns to collect? What more could you want?
I like Microsoft's attitude of keeping games in tune with improving and reiterating on old-school gameplay. Halo, Splinter Cell, Ninja Gaiden, etc. are some of the best-playing games in ther genres. Not overly heavy on cutscenes and cinematics. Just pure fun.
Sony traditionally seems more about pushing the movie-like aspect. Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, God of War, etc. More about telling a story in great detail and the "wow" factor. Gameplay tends to take a backseat.
Rally the troops! This is the year of the PS3! Maybe, at least... well, one of these years HAS TO BE.
