You gotta keep in mind that once upon a time, back when the SNES and Genesis were all the rage, new games were $50-70+ brand new. Throw inflation into that price point, and a $50 SNES game would cost over $80 in today's USD.
The Atari 2600 launched at $200 back in 1977... Nearly $750 by today's standards.
Don't get me wrong, I miss the days of $49.99 launch day PS2 games, but consider this:
Chrono Trigger was $69.99 at launch in...
This isn't about remaking it. It's about porting SOCOM/SOCOM 2, as is, with upped resolution/frame rate and trophies, just like they did with the GTA trilogy, War Of The Monsters, etc last week.
I didn't see any petitions asking for Mark Of Kri to come to PS4... SOCOM has a huge community that would LOVE to get right back into it, just the way it was. They could even keep the limited talk time they had and everything.
I'm fine with them taking their time making sure the online is compatible, but none of these games are being released to "compete" with current games.
I thought it was great. A bunch of sweet of RPGs and Japanese games were announced/shown, (Ni No, AC7, FFVII, and Yakuza in particular) and we got to see more of Uncharted 4. That was more than enough to tide me over.
Have you even played the game?
- It's one of the best looking games out right now.
- Sutherland's involvement makes complete sense if you actually finish the game.
- I'll take a missing mission or two over the usual BS season pass that always gets announced before a game is even finished.
- Gameplay is as rich and deep as any of the previous entries in the franchise.
What Konami is doing is co...
$10-15 for HD visuals, trophy support, share play, remote play, second screen, etc, is totally worth it imo. Nintendo has NES/SNES games for $5-10 on their Virtual Console, but no one's crying about those prices. These games are 10-15 years newer, and only a few bucks more.
Or would you rather pay $40, like we did with FFX?
@Bahamut "dead broke" sort of implies that there may be zero wiggle room in their budget to drop $30 on a game.
Didn't Microsoft do a recall on power cables because Xboxes were exploding? I'll take a smoldering controller over an exploding power supply any day.
$60 isn't cheap at all. I'm not about to pay almost half the cost of an entire gaming console just for a controller that in 2 years will feel just as responsive and grimy as any of the controllers you could've picked up for 1/3 the price.
You want cheap? Madcatz has you covered.
I think that's the key term here. I've been using a wall charger for all 3 of my DS4s (and my DS3s as well), but its not that adaptive fast charge kind. Still no problems after a year of owning a PS4, and 7 years of owning a PS3.
We got Rayman Origins for the Vita. No Legends yet, but hopefully it happens.
Weird, because in MGS2 I clearly remember playing as a stark naked Raiden for a good portion of the finale. And how many times have we seen Sazaki's ass throughout the franchise?
"Imagine seeing snake half undressed..."
More than half of the uniforms in MGSV offer a "Naked" variant, allowing Snake to run around shirtless through Afghanistan and Africa.
Sexualization in video games is really in the eye of the beholder...
There's already been an XBox One limited edition system with the Master Chief Collection. I'm not saying its a guarantee, but I wouldn't put it past Sony to do one with Uncharted.
@LamerTamer
First. You're neglecting the entire production process of a game once its gone gold. How long do you think it takes to press however many thousands of copies they're releasing? Printing all the artwork, sealing the game, and then distributing to hundreds if not thousands of companies looking to sell it, who in turn, have to allocate and distribute their inventory to their hundreds (again, if not thousands, like Gamestop or Best Buy) of store fronts. It is ...
@u got owned
It may seem that way, but rereleases are nothing new. Look at Resident Evil 2 and 3 on the Gamecube, the dozens upon dozens of rereleases of just about every Final Fantasy title across numerous consoles (oh cool, FFVII for the billionth time...), Conker's Bad Fur Day from N64 to Xbox (Live & Reloaded), a bunch of Mega Man games and Mario games (Mario 64 on the DS for example), just about every Pokemon title is a remake these days (red/blue became firered/...
@LamerTamer devs aren't the ones pushing broken titles out. Blame that on the publishers/share holders. They're the ones that set a release date and a strict time table, while the devs scramble to put out something that works to make those quarterly sales projections. I'd be willing to bet that most developers would KILL to work for a company that doesn't have strict time tables/sales expectations.
