Cannot download for free with JUST Amazon Prime. Maybe PSN will have it for sale, too. (Especially stacked with the holiday discount coupon that was sent out to a lot of us.)
Yeah, resolution is a downgrade from the 'ol 4K OLED, but by the time V2 hits it shouldn't be so bad. And yes, Inpatient is looking like a AAA quality, original VR experience designed from the ground up—unlike 'ports' or converts.
Reminds me of the way PlayStation influenced the evolution to Blu-ray HD format. The disc technology didn't become mainstream until after the PS3 saturated the masses.
Projection: Three million units sold by April.
B&H was (still is?) selling the kit, including a free fifty dollar game, the camera and the rest for only $199.99—and that includes shipping AND NO TAX if you live outside New York. I already have the game so I'll sell it and only have had paid one fifty for everything else.
Boy, N4G mods are sure being lax on letting repeat XBOX PUBG 'stories' stay active, lately.
Any word on the free GT mode update?
Finally broke down and ordered one (though I already purchased one as a gift for my sister's family last year). B&H has/had the bundle including a physical game, the camera and VR kit for only $199 AND zero tax or shipping for anyone outside of New York.
Love this. Between LCD Soundsystem hypnotizing all age groups and gamers like these Silver Snipers age is becoming less-and-less of a cultural divide.
Crazy—didn't think there would be another historically monumental year of phenomenal PlayStation games till MAYBE PlayStation 5. Yet, one year later it's another landslide. Feel bad for those who've been brainwashed by Microsoft, but the company itself can go on ahead and eat a Bighard rock.
Finally broke down and ordered a kit. Didn't make sense to pass up one for only one hundred and ninety-nine bucks, with the camera, and a full game (AND I didn't pay tax or shipping). Surprised supply hasn't depleted yet from B&H.
One hundred and ninety-nine dollars with the camera and a game isn't inexpensive enough? Heck, if you go through B&H you don't even have to pay shipping or TAX (if you live outside of New York). Nothing. Else. Comes. Close.
Considering there is a version of PlayStation Experience at least three times a year, "soon" could be in less than five months.
RIP Dante's Inferno reboot.
Hey, BEARMINIMUM, big thanks for the post/link. Amazing this thing's over two hundred pages—for an expansion.
Three hundred fifty bucks for Black Friday—at basically every single major retailer? INCLUDING two move controllers and camera? Sold.
Boy, even if the community wants to read speculative PS5 stories the N4G moderators don't like Sony stories leading the pack of "hot" reads.
All Sony has to do is *whisper PlayStation 5...
Well put, GNCFLYER.
Quite simply: If you're a gamer, you want to play the best selection of games. Playing the same games over and over—regardless if you get to pump the graphics up—gets stale. Having three or four AAA, groundbreaking titles every year makes up for having the less 'powerful' console for a year or two.
It's just taking both developers and gamers a bit longer to get accustomed to the difference between 2D video game experiences and VR 'game' experiences. It's kind of like categorizing board games with video games just because both are games. VR is a different angle to gaming that only overlaps a partial area of video games. (Insert Venn diagram here.)
Besides, after the holiday price of PlayStation VR bottoming-out to $199.99 (WITH A GAME and CAMERA) and t...
