NMS was the biggest disappointment in 2016. The hype was all too real and I remember anyone who questioned what is it you actually do were met with so much hate and blind rage that it is just hilarious to know now how it all turned out.

So yes there are a lot of things wrong with the options that Sony is currently giving people.

Konami cancels PT, Capcom releases a half attempt at SFV with continued milkage, LG finally releases with camera and design issues, every JRPG release so far has been met with mediocre to failed reviews from critics and gamers, you have a couple of good ones here and there but even a broken clock yada yada yada.

Over half of those titles you listed bombed, hardly any of the majority knew about or took years to be released. And Japan being the cradle of niche titles? Is this going to be the new excuse for every title that doesn't sell well? I don't remember Japan having 'niche' titles during the NES, SNES, PS1 and PS2 days.

What a coddling, sympathetic story that is untrue. With the exception of FF the Japanese gaming influence have been next to void. There hasn't been a real breakout hit from Japan in a long time due not being able to produce in the HD era, stuck in the old ways of making games and not understanding what the majority of gamers want outiside of Japan.

This is why I don't believe the Switch will be a hit. We have seen this type of "on the go" gaming before. It never takes off.

Nintendo is so clueless and they are hoping to strike that Wii gold by putting the most minimal of effort with the tech.

As we can see with the Vita, no one wants a dedicated portable handheld and especially a hybrid.

What makes the 3DS and smartphones/tablets so appealing is the 3DS is small and caters to that casual crowd. The smartphones cater to the casuals and have other more important uses outside of gaming.

Yes, I think Sony needs to be clear that most of the games are not true 4k and are using a upscale tricks like the checkerboard rendering technique.

It is a shame though that Sony is marketing the PSPro to gamers as some sort of huge upgrade when the actual specs are not the big or different from the original vanilla PS4.

So let's not take into account the many other games and versions for the PS4 that are having problems for both the Pro and the vanilla PS4. Let's once again only take a small few who just so happen to WORK for Sony and the words of a Sony EXEC that games are so easy to port over.

It might come if the PS4 version sells well enough. So lets see if the old war cry of "variety sells better on PS4" is true. Or if we'll get the old excuse of "it didn't sell because it was too niche.".
