I'm going with the Xbox One. The 360 was supported and is still going strong with more and more titles being released each month. hardware doesn't matter especially when you consider that most of the multiplats played and looked exactly the same this gen, plus you have to consider the use and benefits of DirectX 11.2 that will be exclusive to Xbox One.
Xbox One also has the features that can't be found on the PS4 that appeal to me.

I disagree with this article. I understand your points about consoles being a closed off platform and content going through MS. But we have already seen a shift in their policies of self publishing which if I'm not mistaken will include self pricing and marketing.

Because from my understand only the F2P games will be free to play and outside the pay wall. But the DL or retail games like BF4, CoD, Destiny, and everything else you will need to pay for PS+.

I have a 360 and I watch Netflix on it, I also play DVD movies, I also rent movies from their video service, I also use Last FM, Xbox Music and Youtube.
