So many disclaimers and "even thoughs" in the article. Xbox one is still selling well and with some new releases will start to pick up. And it is still doing better than when 360 launched.

You cant really blame Sony for this. They knew they could put one over on their fanbase and they would run with it. They knew that their fan base would be to busy downplaying Ryse's 900p, Deadrising's framerate, to busy worried about Titanfall's ....everthing to even think to get caught.
They slipped the paid online by you as they celebrated no DRM.
