I was just saying that HD DVD sales picked up again in april and this article points out good sales for blu-ray from the beginning of the year whilst lot's of movies were released compared to HD DVD, but i'd like to point out that blu-ray has tooted it's horn on every good month it's had up until april where it's pretty clear HD DVD has picked up again from a huge spike in sales from an organized anniversary buy and more new releases and now we don't hear amazing results from the blu-ray asso...

And there was only one week in april? how about the weeks before that when HD DVD was doing very well. A case of selective memory I think!

HD DVD had a bit of a comeback and more titles are being released over the coming months, The beginning of the year was definitely slow for releases from HD DVD though.

Plenty of other news sites getting the story right, just do a google news search and it's pretty clear there is no dispute in chinese wording. it's HD DVD players. end of story!

Blu-ray does not have universal, universal are pretty big and I own a fair few universal HD DVD's already. Granted blu-ray has more support by major studios, but it's not loads of them like you say, most of the major players support hd dvd and if hd dvd releases keep outselling thier blu-ray counter-parts such as happy feet and planet earth to name a few, things may sway in studio support. Hd dvd actually has more studio support if you count all studios!

Very interesting, HD DVD top 10, 100, 1000 and 10000 since the weekend, It's funny how things sway so quickly. Format war over? I think not!

HD DVD is far from dead...has anyone noticed the rankings on amazon recently, Planet earth and happy feet have been outselling their blu ray counterparts for nearly two weeks now! The add-on is great value and I'm glad I have one, It's miles better than standard DVD on a decent set-up. well worth it!

Sony would love to monopolize the entertainment market which is what they are slowly doing much like they nearly did to the console market But... as much as I hate to say it, It is a brilliant business plan and Sony are in a position to do it! All we need now is for Toshiba to make toasters with built in HD DVD and they shall be on a winner!

Deepbrown is just pointing out that some patents are just plain ridiculous. Patents are obviously important to protect the creators ideas but some go too far...Whats next a patent on breathing or walking. anyhow back to the topic...Fair play to them, companies should check patents on technology before using it or accept the consequences. This could be huge!

All three SKU's perform the same when it comes to games so what's the problem? why is it confusing? If your on a budget and want to play games get a core, If you like to play games, download media, demos and want a few extra's such as lead, headset ect then get a Premium, If you want to play games have access to the video marketplace and enjoy watching movies through an hdmi TV then get the elite. It's plain and simple!
I'll tell you what is confusing... Releasing a bunch of blu-ray p...

It's bound to sell loads of games on release in relation to two consoles which are already out, It's common sense really.

After all I have heard over the last coming months I was kinda scared to watch that video to show the differences but now I have seen it I don't know what all the fuss is about! The differeces are minute and to be honest I was expecting a lot more from the PS3 and it's mighty cell. what a laugh!!

Bought it nearly a year ago and still have not finished it, a massive gorgeous involving world and a massive amount of content.

Okay I'm enlightened, thanks for the info and history, very interesting. I have a question though, Why could they not all agree on the better technology? I would have thought all the members would have jumped at the chance!

Someone who knows what they are talking about. plus....standardization has been set by the dvd forum for HD DVD so all films released have to follow the same standard, the same can not be said for the Blu-ray association who coincidentally bypassed the DVD forum. The war is still too early to call but as I recall the only saviour for blu-ray which was failing before the PS£ is of course the PS3 which now has turned the tide in blu-rays favour as I expect Sony planned all along. Soon toas...

I use the 360 as an extender a lot and I find it quick and easy to use, Even my other half can use it. It's taken over our living room more than I could have imagined when I first bought it over a year ago!

I don't know where you got your info but I live in the UK and I know loads of people with a 360 or planning on getting one.
