It seems the threshold for evaluating VR has been lowered significantly. When the bar for passing one's expectations settles at the device works, and the plastic headset is made well; this justification should provide sufficient warning that the next frontier of gaming is not quite here yet.
Buyer beware!
Which is useless unless you have a 4k HDR TV. Pure marketing fluff job.
The simple fact that the entire premise is based on "IF" shows just how far away from native 4k the PS4 Pro really is.
No UHD Blu-ray support? No open disclosure of specs during the conference...weak!
It's too bad Sony will be bankrupt before this console generation is complete. All of the we outsold the Xbox chest thumping will not make a lick of difference when they can't keep the lights on because of losing in excess of $1 billion every year.
You are idiot and delusional that you believe you are being ripped off for something you don't have to buy. Then you advocate stealing the game...what a real piece of work you are.
I find this complaint about parity very humorous, since parity is self-evident almost everywhere in society. I don't see the fan boys raising a ruckus over parity in other areas of life.
I say play it or don't play it, it really doesn't matter...but stop being hypocrites about parity.
You must be an intelligence savant to know all this factual information from reading N4G. And what an amazing martyr you are for defiantly refusing to buy a "game".
I wish more people like you would refuse to buy games, then the rest of us could play in peace without having to listen to all this ridiculous fan boy, cry baby whining.
I think you mean "if" they can re-organize the smartphone and tablet business, plus initiate a turn-around in other consumer electronics categories, like TV and Audio.
The smartphone business is very, very bad for Sony as they have little to no carrier support globally. This puts them under extreme pressure as to how and where to sell devices, thus the heavy expense of development and marketing fails to generate enough revenue, resulting in losses in excess of $2 bi...
Look at the total software sales. Xbox One has sold almost 1 million more copies than PS4 in the US. That is a significant number that will be weighted against the install base of both consoles and which can easily diminish the raw value of a higher console install base.
In the end, all these numbers really prove is that both consoles are performing well and that developers will continue to support both platforms.
Sony is going to lose $1 billion dollars this year, so it's not surprising that they are cutting everywhere to reduce operational expenses.
The sad truth is that sometimes when making these type of cuts it goes too deep and there are unintended consequences, like people jumping ship.
Sony is expected to lose $0.19 per share during the current quarter and $0.92 per share for the year. Most of it's divisions are not performing well, and the mobile division will see increased price pressure thanks to Lenovo buying Motorola and looking to buy market share outside of China.
All of these under-peforming divisions will put pressure on the entertainment (Playstation) division at some point if Sony cannot turn things around.
Okay Kojima, we get it...you like the PS4 a lot. Since it's so much better than the Xbox One, why don't you just release your games on PS4?
Oh no...what happened? They were supposed to kill it...how is it possible they didn't sell out?
Investors and the stock market are not gonna like this. Get ready for Sony's credit rating to be moved further into junk status as a result of poor performance in Japan.
You think Sony isn't in the business of making money? They just had to sell-off the PC business because it was losing so much money, and its credit rating has been listed as junk.
Ummm...games. What games are you playing on your PS4?
Seems like Hideo Kojima is maintaining the long held Japanese tradition of keiretsu between Sony and Konami. I doubt many other multi-platform developers would so openly disparage a partner by claiming its product is inferior. There's something called tact, which Kojima might want to employ if he expects to continue getting support from Microsoft.
Amazingly fun FPS...having burned out on Call of Duty, this is something new and different. Not being as good an FPS player as others, the bots provide an excellent way to balance out the scoring system for all player levels.
What a rip-off...a regular PS4 with a sticker on it. Seems like a waste of good money for a game with a purported 2 hour campaign.
Next time one of you fan-boys makes a AAA game, or any game for that matter, you can charge whatever you want for it. You have no birth right to play games, nor a government entitlement to be provided with games. It's the law of supply and demand, and the free market sets the price. You want cheaper games? Then don't buy at launch and wait for sales or buy used, or switch to PC. If enough gamers do that, then the supply and demand curve will shift and publishers will react accordingly...
