Awesome story.
The biggest problem with the piece isn't the pictures though. It's the 'One of these days I'm totally gonna talk to one of those without paying her' text next to them.
They are popular, therefore no one may ever criticize anything they do.
APE LAW!
Just because people clicked on it doesn't make it right.
I see what you did there...
lol, here you go

Rabble will be roused over this.
Why would they go out of their way to do this?

Not really related, but has anyone check what PS2 games still work (if any)? There wasn't a central service, so there are probably a couple that used a more direct console based hosting method that are still playable.
Even a court order on that wouldn't have been billions. It just would have been an even bigger PR hit.
It would seriously take MS PR people 2 minutes to type something up, but they haven't.
But MS told everyone they would award these guys, then didn't.
But they dicked them over in the long run.
Your comment is bogus.
Then you just have freakishly bad luck. I'm not doubting you, but I've only ever even heard of one original Xbox that died beyond the DVD drive crapping out.
I think a couple Dreamcast games still work too. They stay up because they don't actually have servers, just one player as host and the others connecting.
Halo 2 had MS run servers, therefore game could be killed off.
So, this story is bogus because the source is his friend.
According to another guy's friend.
What?
Wow. Total dick move on Microsoft and Bungie's part if true.
Just because it's old doesn't mean no one wants it. My roommate just bought DLC for Dead Space today.
