There's a big difference between having to unlock weapons versus never being able to get them. One is annoying, the other is just unfair to people that get into the game later.
Not only that, but putting guns in the game that can't be obtained unless you preorder for a certain retailer is quite annnoying. For the record, if you're not preordering from Game or Gamestation you cannot get the Type 88 LMG, a sniper rifle Flash Surpressor, or Flechette ammo for the DAO-12. They all sound like good tactical options to me, and I'd be quite angry if I bought Battlefield after the fact and couldn't get them.
