I'm kinda confused why everyone's so excited for a conceptual video. It kinda smacks of the old "house of the future" shorts that showed a fantastic future of shit that never came.
That being said, IF (and I doubt it severely) it works like the video shows, I'd buy one without even thinking about it. It could cost $2000 and I'd get one on day 1

We shouldn't be forced to all play the exact same way. If ppl want 1080p @ 30 fps, let them, but include the option to set the game at 720p @ 60fps. I'd always go for 720p @ 60, but others might not.

Iv'e got an original 720p rift and while I like it, I think Sony is in a better spot to make games compatible with their HMD. Sony simply works with far more devs than Palmer and the oculus crew do. While the rift may be a better product, I'd bet you anything Morpheous will have more games working for it in the long run.
Palmer and Oculus should just worry about tap dancing for Mark Zuckerberg and let Sony handle their own shit.
I've been begging for this option a long time ago. People are too different to lock us all in the same rez/rate. Frame rate trumps everything for me so I'd always pick 720/60
