That's really a trade off. With PCs you have to know your hardware. However, that actually works for you not against you. With that knowledge you can make effective decisions that can save you a lot of money, and most certainly it is affordable when you know what you are doing. The article is about PC gamer's disappointments and not about how the PC is inferior or how consoles are any worse/better. Anyway, I was frankly disappointed with Valve's announcement. It's great news for PS3 users, but many of us have been anxiously awaiting an announcement pertaining to episode 3.

Well, PC gamers have had 3D well over a year before the consoles, and can do it at 1080p. And, since PC games are naively running at 1920x1080 and above resolutions and aren't unscaled like consoles, PC games will look better on larger displays due to higher resolution, better textures, and adjustable AA. So, I hope you rethink what you just said.
