Oh well, people that sit back and let it happen deserve it! I hope that someday people will learn, but I don't have very high hopes for it! This is a very unique idea! I think that more musicians in every genre should consider this! I hope it is successful because if record labels and artists see that it is, they will tend to want to use it!
You make a good argument here! However, they shouldn't legally be allowed to list the right to steal features back in their ToS agreement! The fact that they feel the urge to do that is what is seriously wrong here! Consumers pay for a product and expect that product to continue functioning as it was when they paid for it! I don't know very many individuals that read the ToS anyway! Who has time to stop and read like 30 pages of legal jargon and remember it these days!?!
It is "our fault" if we update!?!? WTF are they smoking? You buy a system with multiplayer capabilities and expect that you should be able to use those capabilities! If you don't accept the update, you cannot use their online services and you would be very lucky if you could continue using it as a blu ray player. The system becomes virtually worthless! I couldn't agree more! At least Game Room will give us something to do that others can't just overcrowd and prevent others from doing it! I commend Microsoft for this! The other major point is that Game Room won't be announced 2 years before they can release it and sit virtually stagnant (ignoring gamer requests for features).
I have a feeling that Microsoft's version will at least be updated with things that the community wants. Sony takes forever to implement even one feature that is highly desired! Before you ask, no I am not a fanboy. I enjoy both systems a lot, but it baffles me how Sony can take so long to do something and Microsoft can pull it off far faster.

First of all, if Digital Downloads ever become the only method to acquire a game, why would they drop the price? The idea is to make a profit just like they would on any other product (physical or not). They are a company like any other and the main goal of a company is to make money! lol. How else can they pay their operating expenses? If anyone expects these games to be like $2 a piece, that is an absolute absurd expectation! It takes cash to develop these games and they have to pay it back...
There is no need to keep simply increasing resolution when you can make the player feel like they could "literally" jump right through the monitor. Trust me, stereo 3D is no longer the "gimic" that it was at one time. It is incredible! I know, I have Nvidia 3D Vision and I go to RealD 3D movies all of the time. :)
Not to mention the fact that the blu ray standards commission is working on adding stereo 3D to blu ray! The TVs and everything are already on the way and some are on the market. They have just come up with the preliminary version of HDMI 1.4 as well, so blu ray definitely has a lot of life left! :) On another note, these companies didn't invest billions in blu ray just to see it die like 2 years later! lol.
Yes, it is hardware. However, what would the hardware be without the software (a.k.a firmware) to tell that hardware how it needs to operate? Answer: A Paperweight. :) It is the software portion that is innovative. Those types of cameras and microphones have been around forever lol.
The problem with Sony is not their hardware at all. They have wonderful hardware for gaming, movies, music, etc, but they do not develop the software fully to realize the potential of the hardware most times. :) I am not saying they are a bad company at all, but they should be more focused on software. Do that and they can bring themselves back to #1 status easily! :)

I have to say that I don't mind the motion controls at all. It is the fact that in most of the games on the wii, they take away the challenge. What they need is to have something to supplement the motion controls in order to maintain that "hardcore challenge" in gaming for some while giving the option to make it easy for others. Through the magic of software, the above is very possible! In fact, Nintendo is already working on it.
