Kind of a dumb article. They are saying the game with an established base of 50+ million outsold a game on a system that just launched with limited availability.
If you have to play with game mode off just to have HDR its never going to be worth it for me. Hes right that a single player game like gears and watch dogs may not make it fell like the input lag is a deal breaker but playing with game mode on usually cuts the input lag in half.
If its for sure the Tegra 2 chip Im super hyped for it. the Tegra 1 came out around the same time in the last gens life cycle and performed better. If the Tegra 2 is even close with great power usage then this could be pretty damn cool.
