If the game is used to apply the skill in actuality then it is a tool, if it's used for entertainment then it's a toy. Games can be both not one or the other.

3, Bloodborne and Sekiro are fair. 2 is not. Enemy spamming and shit hit boxes are what makes 2 fake difficulty. I haven't played 1 yet.
Dark Souls 2, nothing pisses me off more than fake difficulty.

Shit show. Blizz is deeply committed to live services and cell phone games (their main dude doubled down at Blizzcon) not gamers.
I missed two gens, PS2 and PS3. Got a PS4 and will buy the 5 a couple of years from now. And yes usually you get better versions of games unless you buy Bethesda games, they are usually jank no matter when you get them.
They'll have to sell more gadgets and buy media space.
