There's so much potential to invoke critical thinking points in videogaming; I wish more developers would do it.
Psh, we don't need no stinkin' context, or even the appreciation that social commentary is a different ballgame to ignorant or intentional racism...
I'm blaming 'victim culture'. The people I've seen calling it out on being racist are people who have an inherent dislike of AAA games to begin with and jump on ANYTHING negative they can say about them, even if not remotely sensible.
Argh >.<
Crysis 3 guy, last week - 'Graphics is 60% of the game, it's always been about graphics pushing gameplay'. Lolwut!
I had a Speccy but I don't remember this one!
I'm not a competitive person at all. I'm more interested in getting to the end of a story than 'beating' a game. As soon as something starts getting competitive elements, I completely lose interest.
Met my boyfriend through bonding around the campfire in Thunder Bluff (WoW). Moved from Inverness to South Africa four years ago to live with him. He's less furry than I imagined and I'm less green (he was a Tauren, I an orc) but we made it work. :P
I actually kinda sorta considered entering that, because I occasionally make interactive fiction games with a really easy 'engine' called Twine... But then decided not to because I'm lazy and it's too much like work >.<
I have a few friends hugely into Sims, will link them this ;p
Ahh, good times!
And there's been some huge rage in the Ubuntu community about them trying the 'bad' way of certifying apps, from Linus Torvalds himself. We've got Steam Linux running under Mint and had no problem getting it there - it just worked :)
I hope 'interesting' is slang for 'nuked from orbit'. :D
Hahaha. A bit harsh of an analogy maybe but it seems to fit ;p
I love that train station!
Didn't play the first one, but might pick this one up. Looks good.
Yeah that's what Jaco was just saying. Nissan have dictated what's going into the game here; "it's effectively a cheat
true you are only cheating yourself as a player, but it's bothersome because they would have likely added a less "put this, it's good" type item if it weren't sponsored".
I can't believe how much it sticks with you. I'm still thinking about it several days later.
Crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter and IndieGoGo are doing wonders for the game industry. It's about time devs got control of their own games without having to run things through third party publishers that rely themselves on shareholder feedback.
Eh, in my experience people who kick up a fuss about silly things like that only do it from insecurity :D
