Its a two way street but the blame is mostly on MS. MS are too afraid of risks. They want sure sell games. However sure sell games are the games that many existing xbox fans play. So they are stuck.
As such the appeal for the xbox will remain mainly in the west.
What MS needs to do is invest in variety for the sake of pulling in new type of gamers. They should take the long game instead of just thinking short term i.e. profits only.

There was no week the x1 was ahead of the PS4. PS4 has been outselling the X1 every month since launch.

I guess I was jaded with the shield/defense attack and why I found blood more fun and challenging at the same time. However I would say man eater in Demon Souls still takes the cake as the hardest boss battle in any Souls game I have played. Nioh might change it down. Need time to play it.
I trust Sony on this. While it looks kinda cool the fact is it would need to be Stella to be able to get attention within the genre it was going for.
Remember we already have the witcher as the standard barer for action open world RPG and Horzion with similar feel and tone. If the quality was sub par then really it would be better to cancel.

Last gen x360 did very well in the US and UK. This gen its barely managing and is completely destroyed worldwide.
It would be a miracle if it sold 30 million so far yet it should be near peak for console sales now
