I am sorry, but the games aren't geared towards kids. They are geared to be enjoyable for pretty much everyone. Just because a game is E rated does not automatically make it a Kids' game. And another thing, Mario is not casual. Sure it may seem easy to begin with, but it becomes difficult gradually.
And you know what? Nintendo always tries to innovate with their titles. Look at Splatoon; it's going to change up the shooter genre. It's just what the genre need...

One problem with the home menu is that it can't be opened during online play, due to how it pauses the game you are playing. This tends to annoy me especially when I am hosting a friend lobby in mario kart 8
I actually use the Wii Wheel when I am playing online, because the motion controls work so well. It's also very satisfying when I win a race because I get to see the golden wheel next to my Mii name. Friend lobbies are fun because my buddies and I trash talk each other between races. It could be better and there is just no excuse at this point why it is not, but it's better than nothing.
7 laps? My siblings and I took it to the extreme with 9 laps and frantic mode on. The most fun that I ever had as a kid aside from Bob-omb Blast.
I never got to try that as I didn't know about the broadband adapter at the time. But then again, I was only 11 years old. This game is still my favorite because of the insanely addicting multiplayer.
We need a new F-Zero, and for goodness sake, I want to see Mach Rider get revived. Although I have never played Mach Rider, it's still a game that I could totally see getting a revive. F-Zero has been too dormant as it has been more than a decade since GX was released. That game needs an HD remake if there is not going to be a sequel yet.
