As sad as this is, it's all completely true, especially among the smaller gaming news outlets who still have access to the various development houses' PR departments.

Back when I was a Managing Editor with the site I used to work for, getting the preview (and early at that) was the most important thing on the agenda; forget the importance of bias-checking. Just get it out the door so we can put more eyeballs on the page. And often times, going back and looking at ...

Wasn't ATVI the good guy back when EA was going through its money grubbing phase? What happened to them?

The video was taken down due to a copyright claim. How silly.

I've had them since QuakeCon last year, and I'm always amazed by the clarity of sound I get from them. I've never seen a bad Tritton product, so I definitely may have to check these out when they're released.

And you're certainly not alone. Many gamers will still purchase MW2 because, mainly, it looks like it's a solid game by a developer with a solid reputation.

In most respects, this is what makes the price increase so inflammatory to gamers worldwide -- Activision is pretty sure they'll get their increased price, so why not try their increased pricing structure with a game they know people will buy?

You realize that you can't feasibly resell PC games, right?

One thing that I think is hurting the gaming industry on the pricing front is all of the smaller publishers and developers being gobbled up by companies such as Activision and EA. We're seeing a serious dwindling of competition (See the Sierra purchase), and that is most likely also a factor in driving prices up.

NovaLogic beat Sony to the punch on this one _years_ ago. You can get up to 250 people into one Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising server with the proper server software (currently, only one GSP has this particular version of the server, and it's for, coincidentally, a war-sim tournament). While I commend the developers on bringing this technology to a console, the level of innovation here is only slightly higher than average.

I've seen a few of my friends on various forums using Raptr signatures, but I never found any good reason to break away from Xfire (or the like).

If you check out computer manufacturers like Dell and HP, it appears that AMD still has deals with those two to use AMD 64 processors (looks like the old X2 line to me) to place in the budget PC lines. That's what is most likely keeping them afloat right now.

Albeit, my older desktop has an AMD X2 4400+ in it back from when those were all the rage about four years ago. It's slower than I'd like, but it still does the job.

With the petition against the law now having reached 50,000 signatures, it will be heard before the Parliament. I must say, this is quite a bolstering for the gaming community of Germany.
