I am seriously impressed. No sarcasm! It's a bitch.
Thoroughly impressed.
So expensive, but seriously, I just can't wait to play with this bad boy. Starting to save....NOW.
It's just brutal. I just keep wanting to push on....
You know, I'm jealous. Reach event! Wish I could've gotten my hands on it early!
Why not both?!
Hey, if the glitches and exploits are fixed it's a fantastic multiplayer game. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, and if there are a few things broken, fix them and make it perfect.
I want 16-bit characters back. Those were the days!
Geeking. Can't wait!
That doesn't mean Vice City isn't better than GTA IV.
@n to the b - I think it's not about the children - it's about the fact that John Marston has quit the life of being an outlaw to settle down because he no longer wanted that life. His family is then held hostage by the newly-formed FBI (or, more accurately, the FBI's predecessor) and has to return to a life he thought he'd escaped. It's in the ending where it's so poignant and beautiful. I can't recommend RDR enough. It's that good.
Also, whi...
I tend to agree with you there.
I think the article looks at these games and their capabilities from a present day perspective. Yeah, Ocarina of Time may not seem like much today, but when it came out on the 64 - holy $#@*!!! It was freaking nuts, right? I wouldn't call it overrated, just the evolution of gaming.
But, then again, there are quite a few on here that do deserve the overrated tag.
I agree. At least Mafia II's story is good. Not perfect. But good. GTA IV hides itself in being gritty and realistic but it's really juvenile. Niko escapes Eastern Europe to begin a new life and just begins killing again...it's like, really? And he shows NO reluctance at all.
In Red Dead you have a character with a family, who's fighting for something, and who doesn't really like what he's forced to do. I LOVE RDR.
Yeah, GTA IV especially. Look, it was a great game, but you know what was a better open world game? Vice City. And Mafia 1. And Red Dead Redemption.
GTA IV was okay, I think the real mind-blower was the design of Liberty City. It's gorgeous. It's just, well, a little less juvenile a story than, say, San Andreas. Actually, speaking of which, add San Andreas to the list of better open world games, too.
Reminds me of games like Jazz Jackrabbit haha.
I sincerely wish I remembered more games like this - the closest I get to reliving the old days is firing up King's Quest 5 and 6 on my Mac. The thing with games is that, at the end of the day, the graphics don't make the game. Those games are as good today as they were then - engrossing, thought-provoking, intelligent. So cool to see a game concept and how it's created - really kind of speaks to every gamer, too because who here hasn't thought of a game idea before.
Love the art style for Shank! It's looking like it's going to be a seriously awesome game!!!
Wooooo!!!!! I love RDR's multiplayer so more is good :-)
I don't agree at all that the article makes it sound like the game allows you to mutilate women, bomb schools, etc. It says that in most games where the opposition (which you sometimes play as) are terrorists, they are fictional, and thus, not a big deal. Heck, even Modern Warfare 2's airport killers were pretty much ignored by major media outlets because it was fictional. But, he's simply saying the controversy comes from playing the part of a REAL terrorist group that does horri...
I get RDS down here in Mass via my computer. Most definitely watching the game.
