no company spends millions and many many many hours on an inhouse engine to not use it bro...that makes absolutely no sense and publishers will have to pay royalties to unreal for use of engine for every game sold vs using what they already invested in aka sunk cost and not have to pay fees...despite us as gamers could benefit it will ultimately come down to profit margins and recuperating operational cost of building in house assets like game engines
