Sony does what every good company would do, protect their profit margins.
Yes exclusive sucks but everyone does it.
Keep in mind that 48% of Activision-Bilzzard products are bought on Playstation and have been an endemic part of Sony's platform for 20 years, that is no small loss and I would do anything in my power to protect that.
