I think that the PS Collection is absolutely a step in the right direction to compete with the Xbox value proposition. The games there are great, but there's still not enough of them to hit the same level of variety and choice that comes with something like Game Pass.
Here's hoping it expands as the generation continues!
I reckon PAX could definitely be a good place to do a full teardown and UI unveiling at. Keep this showing to games/release details and cover the other additional details elsewhere.
Yeah, this is absolutely going to help scalpers when suddenly all the physical stock dries up and they just up their prices massively.
Yep, I had a RROD, a dead disc drive on my PlayStation 3 and the cracked hinge on my DS Lite.
I still loved the games I played, but having to replace consoles (warranties only last so long) was frustrating.
Yeah, even with the increased supply I reckon they’ll be hard to come by.
I think the increase in production is largely due to soaring console sales in general in the middle of this pandemic, but they definitely seem to be confident in their console/lineup.
I think a large part of the issue is publishers focusing on the size of the map, instead of those other aspects you mentioned.
They’re so obsessed with having a giant map that you’ll have to spend 50 hours combing, that they don’t spend enough time focusing on interesting traversal, unique combat mechanics or engaging side activities.
Yeah, no matter what they say, they care about selling consoles. If they didn’t care about selling consoles, they wouldn’t be selling or marketing one.
You wouldn’t normally show a sticker like that on an image for box art though. I’m fully expecting it to be a big old image on the print.
Got email confirmation this morning letting me know the game had been added to my account. Looks like it just takes a decent length of time.
I believe there was a skin or something for The Crew 2. Not sure what else.
Yep, just for PC
The problem isn’t the Switch itself and the article doesn’t blame the console, it blames developers releasing games in terrible condition and the (often large) part of the audience and critics on the platform saying ‘Eh, that’s just what the games are like here. You just have to get used to it.’
So basically, it says exactly what you’re saying, except with the inclusion of the parts of the user base and critics that give poor performing port a pass.
I definitely agree with you there. Give me some fantastic activities to do in the map or give me death!
That’s definitely one of the exceptions to the ‘tired sequels and franchise cash ins’ you often get late in a generation!
I might just point out that the price in the article is AUD and not USD. The equivalent price in USD would be closer to $400-450 USD (given parts in Australia are marked up compared to the US and prices here include sales tax in the listing).
One hundred percent agree with that. I’m still hoping they bring the series back, but I haven’t held my breath for another game for quite a while.
That's exactly what I was doing as well before getting the game. I got hooked on watching the Giantbomb crew squadding up in their Murder Island premium series.
It's definitely looking like a massive get for Microsoft. It'll be interesting to see how the inventory management works with a controller on Xbox as well.
Edit: I see the original poster has edited his comment to remove his statement that this is just what software emulation is, but I’ll leave my below response as it was.
That's not quite true here, as the Xbox Series X uses the same hardware architecture as the Xbox One, so this isn't an instance of requiring hardware built in or full on emulation to run past titles. This is much closer to a PC continuing to run games as you buy a new CPU and GPU.
