This article is a proof on the fact that the video game media can't critically evaluate or analyze information. Not only Digitimes made up news that actually never happened ("Nintendo in March announced its plan of releasing Nintendo NX in 2016") and arbitrarily decided to not even mention the names or the origin of their so called "sources" of information, but other video game medias (like nintendoenthusiast and gamersftw) are passing forward these "news" as...

There you go, finally someone with some serenity: instead of speculating on whatever your hate throws up to your mind, just pretty much quoting what the Nintendo representatives said themselves. Bubbles for you mate.

I liked the presentation with the puppets, it gave the conference a lighthearted, good humor. But I think that the conference was poorly planned and edited. Just by adding the game trailers that they simply released on their youtube channel just after the digital event was over would have generated, in my opinion, a different reaction from the public. Games that people were actually looking forward weren't even mentioned. Not talking about unexpected games or yet unrevealed games, I'm...

For me, the worst moment was when they showed that Animal Crossing amiibo festival game. I can't say I was glad with everything I was watching, but at least all games looked like fair, playable games (IMO). But that Wii U Animal Crossing Amiibo game was just too much, it felt to me like a nintendo mobile game.

Well, according do wmdportal.com, which is project cars official website, yes, you are right, the wii u, the ps3 and the xbox 360 were initially the consoles the studio was focused on. On their own Game Design Overview, available at their own website, you can see how the wii u was advertised as a future console for the game (and not just a "maybe") Actually, it is the only console on the whole Game Design Overview that has a section dedicated for it's special functionality (pg. ...

Was this game really intended initially to be delivered for the Wii U through a Kickstarter campaign? Personally speaking, I would be very disappointed if I supported these people and got this back from them. That is, to say the least, very disrespectful.
Was the kickstarter focused initially for the Wii U, or was it since the beggining considered to all the different systems?

Actually, not two months ago a research showed that the main reason that made people buy a ps4 was "better resolution" ("faster processing power" was fourth). The main reason to buy a Xbox was "brand". So, yes, differently from what you suspected, people will buy a console due to reasons like sales and power.

Just to refresh your memory:

Far cry 4 would be fair, but they won game of the year with Watchdogs... I could agree with you that Far cry 4 is a pretty good game, but Watch Dogs? Game of the year?
But actually, it wasn't Watch Dogs that gave Ubisoft a high number of awards, it was Child of Light, which earned 5 out of the 17 possible awards (for the 2014 category).

I know that Nexis Games is not exactly a role model of success, but does Shawn Taylor (the article writter) have to disqualify the guy's efforts on pretty much every line of every paragraph? Not to mention his " jornalistic neutrality": is it really necessary to compose a proposition suggesting that the producer contradicts what he says just because he started a kickstarter for some 20 k? Really? If so, why Shawn does not send the producer an e-mail asking what he plans to do wi...

masterfox, I believe you are missing the point of the article: the article is not trying to demonstrate what the console have to date, but what is it's potential. Like on energetics, potential is the amount of power that can be converted in an actual state of things. When Philip Haynes, the writer of the article, arguments that the console isn't doomed, he is doing so by poiting at it's potential. I understand that you might not like these titles: it's ok, nobody have to love ...

Finally some serenity on this FPS subject. For those that were already playing games on their consoles about 20 years ago, I'm sure that all this fuzz over FPS sounds very familiar to the famous bit-era war: "how many bits does your console have?" has now been replaced by "which is the framerate of this game?". Well, I have a question: what about playing the game? Experience it? What about it's gameplay? I would not be surprised if game developers and publishers st...

Don't forget that the software sales chart goes from the 15th to the 21th of september. Bayonetta 2 was only released on the 20th, so the numbers showed here do not correspond to a full week sales chart. Since people are probably going to start comparing sales numbers from the previous game on the series, I do suggest to keep in mind two things:
in relation to Bayonetta, these sales numbers do not corresponde to a full week sale.
Well, the video game scenario in Japan ha...
