It's pretty much up to nobody in these forums whether the PS3 sells or not. It's up to the John Q. Public, and if they decide they want a PS3 than awesome, they just picked up a great piece of hardware. If they don't decide they want one and sell few this winter while Nintendo and MSFT sell a lot, then Sony really needs to do a 180 on the way they're running there gaming division, because obviously something isn't working....
Because Halo 2 was the only online game MSFT had until GeOW came out.
Yah I agree all this negative attention getting thrown at the 40 gig is ridiculous. I mean it still offers a ton of options for just $399. The only thing you can't do is play PS2 games? I mean who really cares. Listen most people who bought a PS3 never play the old PS2 games, I mean whats the point, Yah I can see maybe poppin in SotC, GOW1/2, MGS3 but other than a quick nostalgic play through, thats it. If you still play PS2 games all the time then keep the system around and still play them.....
This is EXACTLY whats going to happen at gamestop stores come christmas time. Parent: "Could I have a PS3 please" Clerk: "Yah I can get you one but it doesn't play all the old PS2 games you bought and can only play PS3 games, which means all those PS2 games you bought were a waste of money...But the XBOX360 plays all its old games so if you ever wanted to play like Halo 1 again you could no problem, plus Halo 3 just came out which is the best game ever"...parent walks out...

THANK YOU! I couldn't have said it better myself. There is nothing news worthy about this. Bloodmask just posted this to piss people off and that is total bullsh!t. Nobody cares about this story, nobody is reading this and saying 'oh jeez, he's right...i'm selling my ps3'. Believe people know what they want and what they don't want, we don't need ANOTHER useless guys opinion on the subject matter.
Do you people honestly believe he thinks that "its an act of desperation"...no he doesn't. He writes stuff like that to get a rise out you guys. When a company shows off its product, its obviously not an act of desperation and anyone with a brain cell could tell you that. He writes these things to evoke an emotion out of people. Me and my buddy booted up the game on co-op and noticed the sides were chopped off (40" HDTV) to make it look like a standard square. We both agreed that this was major bullshit. How could they not pick something like that up? And this is just opinion here, I'm just ranting, anyone else like the Halo 2 online setup better than the Halo 3 online? It's like they took the greatest online in the world and tweaked it a bit for the worse.

I do agree that VGChartz numbers are very skewed and often times way off the mark of NPD's numbers. I didn't buy a PS2 to play my old PS1 games, I didn't buy a 360 to play old XBOX games and I sure as hell didn't buy a PS3 to relive the glory days of my PS2 collection.
