The use of DVD will guarantee that people who buy Natal, but not the next system, can upgrade at anytime and still use their old games and receive the upgrades to their titles on the new system.
Like the PC, if I get a game and then play it on a weaker system, I can play it but miss out on better graphics, etc. Then, if i upgrade, I get everything.
