Yeah MS and live may not be saints I'll be the first to admitt it. But one thing I can honestly say up to this point I've yet to get a email from them saying my info has been compromised ever. I heard of a few accounts being hacked but never the whole live community ever.
Sony was more worried about preventing hackers from hacking the ps3 that they never thought anyone would hack their network. And after failoverflow easily found the keys to hack the ps3 and run CFW....

Well it's good to know people will choose a system with shitty security to protect your personal information than to send a system back to be repaired. I know I rather take a console that needs repair than to go thru the trouble of trying to get my identity back.
And no RRoD is no where near as bad as identity thief. If you think it is then do some fuckin research and see how the people that go thru identity thief have to try and reclaim there lives

so let me get this straight. because its a paid service security should be their priority. but because PSN is a free service it shouldn't be. then it's true you get what you pay for. then because sony don't charge they don't have to take measure in protecting anyone informaion which is why hackers got a hold of our information.

Anyway. I agree that no online site is safe. I've had my steam account hacked and had to provide proof that games I brought was in fact purchased by me just to access thise games and set up new passwords for that site as well as this one.
I'm starting to love these damage control articles. Like any of those reasons are as bad or anywhere near as bad as having your credit card and personal info stolen.

Well I brought the pc version off steam but I'll be picking up the 360 version to play co-op with my friends and family online
Live didn't go down for me. I had a very slow connection to live but I could still get on and play with friends. They even gave me a free game for the inconvenience. I think sony is a shit company trying to hide behind their ToS and not compensate atleast the Ps+ users. Since they are the one that paid for the service
I got my email from Sony yesterday afternoon as did a co-worker of mines since her husband uses her credit card for netflix and some DL games.she was even upset about it because she had to print out her credit report and change all her passwords because of this blunder.
