I think one reason why games are shorter is because with each generation of consoles, the cost to develop is increasing. So they increase the game price and decrease the length because it took more time and money to make a game that's shorter than last gen. Are we going to get to a point where a game costs $90 but is only 3 hours long because it's go so much quality. Even so, I can't justify that.
What about native MKV support???
I picked this up earlier this week when amazon had it for $99. That plus I will be getting back $30 from the logitech rebate. Can't beat a wheel like that at 69.99
Ask if it's relevent when it outsells all of the forza games.
I predict there will be a new console cycle. If I'm right, Pachter must agree to give me his job.
Did you guys notice in one of the shots, there are 2 camera guys sitting next to eachother and they look exactly the same.
Guess what Cliffy, I will buy gow3 used, and i'll look for one that has a missing manual.
Sick of all these stupid maxing out console articles. You know what, anyone can write (inefficient) code and max out any machine with it. The most efficient pieces of code and methods (closest to maxing out) won't be written for either 360/PS3 until the very end of their life cycles. That's why games always look and perform better at the end of the lifecycle. Also same reason why sequels can look and perform better.
For $70-$100, I would not do it myself. First, there is no guarantee of the quality of the laser replacement you're getting. On the official playstation forums, i've read about people who have replaced the laser 2-3 times because of bad quality replacements. I'm not even sure that a lot of the replacements you can buy are even new. If a laser is doa or stops reading within the return period of the online retailer you got it from, you pay to send it back.
Go the official playstation boards. you'll find people on there with the YLOD.
I'm in now way saying KZ2 killed my ps3's laser, it just so happened that when my preorder came, the game froze on the intro movie and my ps3 stopped reading blu-rays since. Since my 60gb is out of warranty, I'm finishing up ps2 games until I decide what to do with it.
Also, I don't know what it will be like in 2-5 years but some isp's are already testing download limits in areas. If limits become more common, imagine if Halo 5 comes out and tons of people who wanted to play it (I'm assuming hardcore gamer here) have reached their download limit for the month. Has anybody thought about that in terms of moving towards digital distribution (I don't agree with a move towards digital distribution of games).
Also the fact that some ISP's want to start enforcing download limits as well.
I didn't buy my 65 incher to watch dvd's. If you can't enjoy the tv for what it can give you, then why did you buy it. Bluray is the best thing out now that we can enjoy on our tv's. If something else comes out along the way then fine, but right now it's bluray. You don't buy a fishing boat so you can fish the sunnies in your backyard pond. You don't buy your jordans so you can play four square with your kids. You don't buy a $100 tennis racket so you can play with grandma when you visi...
While the set looks nice and I'm sure it would be a decent electronic drum set for the price, I see it as a waste of $$$ for RB2. There's still only 4 colors regardless of cymbals. You'll have to know for every song which colors are mapped to cymbol sounds. Otherwise it would look/sound ridiculous hitting the cymbols during the game but not making cymbol sounds.
Not only that, I don't think they advertised the game much.
Your tax dollars are buying ps3's for the police.
That would suck if they release only bundles first. Then people with instruments would have to wait.
because if Sony or Microsoft buy those companies, they are going to be exclusive to those consoles. Then it sucks just as much as if EA owned them.
MW3 supposedly had 10 million people buy it on day one. Imagine 10 million people hitting the same servers to download a single game. You won't be hitting your usual dl max speed.
