@NewMonday: A slew of positive Reviews do not make for a good reviewer. That is why I like gamespot. They are brutally honest with their reviews and don't care what other gamers think--they just tell it like it is from their own perspective.
Wtf? I like Adam Sessler's reviews because they are detailed and intelligent (even if I see things differently from him at times), but to choose Gone Home over TLOU for game of the year is ridiculous. May he knew everyone else was gonna do the same by voting for TLOU and he wanted to be different (?).
Why do u say that? Because of the ability to camouflage? Also, is Decoy unable to emulate a female voice? Is that why Quiet is so "quiet"?
Ridiculous. Go on Amazon or look at the USER reviews on metacritic. These are the voices that count because without consumer money, no amount of praise for the game will matter. Countless user reviews are saying the game is lame. And I agree. Biggest disappointment of the year.
Please share with us the evidence from which you draw your conclusions about "most" people who never played it. Do the countless reviews giving it 6.5 and the thousands of user reviews on metacritic and Amazon all come from people who have nothing better to do but to write scathing reviews about a game they didn't buy?
Yeah, ok.
Just like how they stripped down sims 4. EA is itching for worst game company of the year again huh? What would this be, the 3rd year in a row?
Lol from what I hear lately YOU seem to have plenty of time for that. If you invested all the time you spend on n4g you could have earned a couple of PhD's lol.
You can play for far longer than that and it will still never get good.
Impressive. But call me when he makes a ps4 laptop.
No Destiny really wouldn't get those great scores even if an xbox exclusive. It is bland, just like a certain xbox exclusive called RISE that sucked and got mediocre ratings.
I like how condescending the first paragraph of the review starts: it assumes that those who dislike the game either didn't play it for long, or are part of some category of persons who just love to hate on popular games.
Maybe...just maybe...people really don't like the game.
I've learned that it can't hurt to wait a couple of days to see review scores, user reviews, and feedback from friends before buying a new game. Pre-ordering is for suckers if it's an unfamiliar franchise. Trust me, i'm sick of sequels too, but i'm not parting with $60 until I have a better idea of what the final product is like.
So what...even as an FPS it sucks. The 30 fps on a next gen system is so jarring. I can't get used to it. Plus the pvp is totally uninspired TRASH.
Or maybe journalists were bypassed so that Activision can sell a butt load of copies before the reviews poured in showing that the game sucks.
Yeah it's illegitamate bastard child
Who cares Captain Grammar? What's that to do with the merit of his review?
10 pages and only 7 games. When is n4g going to stop this stupid hit-ware garbage from spamming this website?
Dunno why you got any disagrees. Spot on description of the game. Have a "well said" bubble, mate.
No. Just let the perfect ending be as is. It's so haunting. If it continues, for any reason, you devalue the power of that dismal ending. People with no imagination can't learn to let a story live on in their heads...
Look at P.T./Silent Hills: There were some moments where things looked photorealistic.
But in my opinion, lighting/shadows play a huge part in that. Until games can make light look more realistic, no amount of detail on textures can escape that rendered plastic look.
Better lighting and shadows, plus 2k resolution might bring us closer to that possibility.
