Well what Capcom apparently showed was the horror sections
I mean if your were if there situation you would want to give gamers the impression that you've listened to them. You wouldn't show off action if your trying to convince people it's survival horror. They wouldn't keep that from us if they are trying to sell us the game.
Apparently Leons story has hardly got any survival horror elements in. Journalists has apparently said while previewing the game that it's the worst campaign out of all 3 because they just use cheap ways of adding survival horror elements and because it still plays like a full on action game.

The Gears controls were fine, why try and fix something which isn't broken.
Don't try and justify the unneccesary features which has ruined what this game was all about. Compare the first game which made people fall in love with the franchise with the third and you'll see why the third one is just another generic third person shooter knock-off

No wonder games are dropping in quality, it's people like you who would rather tack unnecessary things on to single player games are the real problem
When it's tacked onto single player games thats when they ruin it, especialy survival horror games. It dosen't matter how good the developer is they still cut development time on the single player content to make sure the game is structured in a way where only people playing co-op will get the most out of the game. Although this goes in differen't ways

Untill I see a gameplay video of someone going through it by themselfs then I'm going to have to call BS on EAs part.
Are you sure they don't mean "You don't have to play co-op" but the AI partner will still be there.
Capcom said the same thing about RE5 before release and Sheva was still in the game as an AI.
But they'll still develop the game around co-op because it's the main new feature in the game. So even when your playing it solo you've still feel like your playing this non scary fill on action game.
Capcom could of let you go solo in RE5 and I still would of complained.
