They are just nice little easter eggs in the Fallout universe...to actually play as them would spoil it in my opinion.
Ghouls and Supermutants are the only choices but can you imagine getting into small locations if you were a massive Super mutant, it would look out of place. You could tell in Fallout 3 that some of them had trouble getting through some doors.

What a waste of a character...all they had to do is give Good cole an alt skin and change the ice attacks to fire. Like when he does his LV2 Ice attack just turn it into fire or add some fire effects to the LV 3 Super Tornado attack

Whats the point when you've already ruined the franchise, if you were telling the truth RE6 wouldn't be the way it is now. It would of been Leon, Ada, a non co-op partner like Claire or Rebbeca Chambers, a scary location and Zombies/Tyrants.

Thats the thing though they keep trying to build this suspense and it's just going to p*ss people off if the characters we want arn't in it and I mean characters the majority of us want in it...Crash, Spyro, Cloud for example if there not and they've build this suspense up then people are going to be p*ssed off they just didn't tell us when the game was announced. Trying to ignore it untill launch is just cowardly to be honest.
I think the marketing hasn't been so good...I really think they should of used E3 to their advantage being an American event and showed a crap load of stuff of for the game. Releasing characters every so often sounded like a cool idea but when most of them are revealed by leaks it spoils to excitment, lets not forget characters most people don't care for or versions of them you know they are just doing free advertising for.

The gameplay looks slow, the characters look terrible, they've ruined what the series was about, it looks dumb down, it resembles nothing like a DMC game etc

I think they like to leave things from past characters alone while they move onto a new "special" character in the next game. I mean it probably wouldn't be as fun to be another dragonborn in the next game. Look at the champion of cyrodil in Oblivion we've hardly heard anything about him despite him saving the world 200 years ago.

I wouldn't complain really if these smaller DLCs were out quicker but to wait nearly a full year so you can adopt a child and build a house...well I don't know but it sounds kind of lame. With Shivering Isles we waited a year to explore a brand new region full with a massive plotline and tons of side quests...plus they added the houses DLC and the Orrey/Spell tombs in ...
