There fault. They had the ability to give players the option to make it a choice to play like Shit of Duty or Killzone. They also had the choice to stick to what made their game great instead of pussying out and giving in.

More to do with spending $60 during a depression then being a troll. I loved killzone 2 but I'm not spending $60 for 4 hours when in just a few short months Dues Ex will come out which will give me 25-30 hours. And if you don't play or care for multiplayer, like me, a short single player campaign leave a bad taste in your mouth.
The longer it takes for you to come out the cheaper your product will be when it comes to electronic because you could very well come out when your tech is "outdated", which will make it a lower price. That was how the original xbox was able to bump up it's tech without changing price. In Sony's case they just need to keep the tech they already announced and reap the rewards. Being first is nice, but getting a cheaper advanced system is even better.
Why the f do we keep on having stupid articles like this? AGAIN, lets look at why it didn't sell well:
1. $60 dollars for 5-6 hours is insane.
2. $60 dollars for a game with little to no gameplay is also insane.
3. Not everyone cared for the art style.

Crap score. Gears of War got a 9.4, and that game had absolutely no story what so ever. Yet Killzone 3 supposedly doesn't have one and loses points for this, bull! Double standards.
