i think this is a case of Nintendo yet again being over confident in their brand. Its their hubris... they can't just rely on their brand recognition and justifying selling a mario game for 10 bucks. Their software sells very very on their hardware but thats just it, they have no competition in that regard. They need to learn to be competitive if they want to survive and they are having a hard go at just that..
I think it would be great if they had a more focused and less "grand scale" single player. i always loved the art direction and style of the series and i love the helghast, so i think it would be cool if they explored the inner working of the helghast more.
On a side note, playstation is in desperate need of a triple A FPS, and oh my would i ever like a new Resistance or Killzone ....more Resistance to be honest...
the shooter market is over saturated this holiday, plane and simple. Coupled with the fact that so man triple A games have released in the last 2 months anyways i can see why games are "under performing". Games aren't exactly cheap, and the fact that 3 big name shooters are release within 2 weeks of each other is just crazy.
If this deal comes to NA, i very well might have to get Titanfall 2. I really hope it does!
On a side note,after seeing the black friday deals that microsoft is offering for the one, i really hope sony competes or at least matches. those deals are really tempting me to buy a one.
The sequel to any game IS in essence a "reskin". So that makes Titanfall 2 a reskin of the first as well, so your argument invalidates itself. Its redundant to argue this anyways..
They aren't just gonna overhaul the entire formula of what makes a great game great every time. Off the top of my head the only game to ever do this was COD3 to COD4 and pretty much every game has copied that formula to some degree ever since. You have to have some core aspects that...
Gameplay wise its definitely a superior game to the first. The story is more coherent as well in that it doesn't drag on and doesn't have a tacked on ending like the first(BS1 story is still far better though). Personally i hated that you played a big daddy because it removed that horror element of the first that worked so well. But considering we had already visited Rapture before, we kind of already knew what to expect, so using a big daddy as the protagonist was a logical choice.
Halo 3 had some pretty nice water. The effects of a grenade going into the water an exploding were the first of its kind for its time(or atlas in y experience anyways).

Its an ambitious game which i greatly welcome, especially in an era of un-ambitious rehashed and uninspired games. We need games to push the boundaries, if people have a problem with this, then I'm sad for you.
i lost count the amount of times i beat that game. first superhero game that really did it right.
