The sad thing is that this is nothing new. Coming from a sales background we call this the bait and switch. The new Console (the bait) has a super low price (also known as a lost leader) brings them in, then they get there and we switch them to buy a used product (something that has more profit in it) a used Console would do the trick or maybe the used HDD to go with the new Xbox Arcade. Move = Wii with better accuracy but the problem is that super casual gamers ie Wii type gamers (Mom, sis and little brother) don't like accuracy they like simple games that let them win with little challenge. Move Sport Champion might be to advanced for Casual gamers IMO but for Core gamers it could be good fun and even challenging. Cool little bonus that it works in the XMb and Movie play back. I would like to see the pointer in the web browser and maybe that minority report action in the picture viewer like in their tech demo. Oh and why is everyone so surprised that it works without the camera it's basically an advanced wii-mote without the camera the camera just gives it the exact positioning. Looks like there will be plenty of things the Move will be able to do besides games. No complaints here =D
I personally don't have a problem with the tech upgrades but if you're going to do it, do it right. Here's a perfect example. PS Eye Toy came out, it had a few fun games but was abandoned because it never really caught on (mostly because developers didn't support it). MS took the tech upgraded it to the next level and so far it has still not been received well at least not by the gaming community at large and it seems the developers dont know what to make of it. I wonder if the light that comes from the TV is enough for games with head tracking like the Fight game? The light reflected from the Move controller shouldn't be a problem since most new TVs have anti-glare surfaces like my LCD does.
Lets not forget the PS3 does porn so you really could kill 2 birds with one PS3 ;) That said why choose I say both are good in their own right but some people might not have as many options and games don't talk back lol
Please don't dumb down our fighting games!!! It was bad enough that they did it to MVC2 with only 4 buttons and 1 button combos sigh :(. This game looks to be really good! I kinda wish it was coming to the PS3 so I could play it with the move controls and in HD. Either way looks like it's almost time to dust off the Wii and get my game on ;)
