For the most part I preferred PS3 exclusives over PS4. On the PS4 my personal favorite is God of War 2018. On PS3 I loved Resistance, Killzone, Little big planet, Valkyria chronicles, uncharted, Motorstorm. That said I am anticipating last of Us 2.
Xbox is worth owning too. I love it's back compat.

No, it's cost saving. Obviously 52 cu is better than 36. Look at any high end GPU.
It has back compat so u should be able to play them. Although maybe not at launch
