What i think: The main OS will shutdown, enter an update stage and the start up the main OS again. Instead of the console hardware restarting after update.
Loving the Wig-like wood stand for the Headset.
Yes. On PS4, PS4 PRO, XBOX ONE and XBOX ONE X Developers work with 4 possible setups, so they can fine tune settings so a 60FPS game drops from 1080p to 900p sometimes to keep the framerate locked, i really like that, since i can't really see the difference with all the action going on and the TV being far away.
Now on PC, there are infinite number of possibilities regarding hardware, so it becomes a vey inconsistent experience, and considering people sit close to the m...
PS2 Models, PS3 Enviroments. PS4 Box Art.
I don't care about the sexual innuendo, but i find the characters and enviroment really uninspired. The game is selling well, so why can't people advocate for better content?
But man... way to spoil things...
Thanks Sushinama, i needed Ad Hominem examples for my college essay.
I can see this working on developing countries, where games are really pricey. people would rather buy this cheaper console and pair it with a Game Pass Suscription to save money. Got your essential games for your kid. If this is being marketed this way, that's not such a bad idea.
For example in my country, the cost of a yearlong Game Pass suscription is lower than the price of 1 Brand New Physical Game. On the console side, 50 bucks is a hefty discount on many places....
Yeah, this game benefits a lot from a higher FPS and subsequent responsiveness.
Well, fast travel is an option. The ideal mix is making Fast Travel locations only available after first walking there, to encourage exploration. I personally don't have the time to backtrack everywhere i go (I can only play a couple hours a day) and traversing Open World maps take a lot of time. It's not rewarding anymore when you go through the same road for the third time, there are only so many scripted sequences you can trigger or quests to pickup, after that it's the same ro...
I can´t get past the circular logic in the subtitle.
EDIT: Phrasing
Not related, this is another medium for delivery of games. On the hardware gaming, as long as making physical games makes financial sense, they’ll exist.
What’s disagreeable about my statement? I wish people would speak out their concerns.
Great option for people with Good Internet access. I don't get the backlash as this isn't meant to replace conventional consoles or pcs.
You won't need to change anything. What that means is that Stadia traffic is routed through Google's Network first and then delivered locally, rather than using mainstream traffic networks. It should, in theory, be faster.
“Same goes for XBOX”, yeah of course, so? What’s your point? I don’t care for fanboy stuff. My comment was about opportunity.
EDIT: I only own a PS4, that’s why I talk about PSN as examples.
Games are services. They last till they are supported by the platform. Most games today rely on day one patches and fixes to be playable. What do you think is going to happen in 10 years when you only have your disk 1.0 version and PS Store for PS4 is down? This is the least future proof generation of video games so far.
Microsoft has the upper hand regarding game streaming, as they already have servers worldwide due to it's Cloud Services (Azure) which is top player. If anyone can do it properly, it should be them.
So far i've only had a shitty experience, but that's due to my location and poor stream output (Mostly 720p), i see why microsoft could take advantage of their already established infrastructure.
Regarding Streaming Vs. Downloading a game it's ...
@Nyxus Please read about how many games REQUIRE day one patches to even work properly or fix a game breaking bug, it's just the industry standard. For example, Batman Arkham Knight doesn't work without the patch: after the first levels, you get stuck forever loading on Gotham Police Station. Yeah sure, "Play game without updates", this is not the SNES era dude.
The same could be said about current Gaming. Most games will be unplayable when XBOX LIVE and PSN are finally down. A current game without a Day One Patch? Whats going to happen when you insert the disk and can't get updates? This generation is not futureproof. I see your point about licensing games and not OWNING them, but come on, in 15 years you won't be able to enjoy PS4 or XBOX ONE games the intended way, and some you won't be able to play in any capacity.
I mean, CRT are nostalgic and have a warmer feel. But they can't beat a 75 inch OLED 4K HDR TV.
