Yes, I don't think they would have risk missing BF. It's perfect, people who doesn't have enough money for GT5 will mostly have a relative that will get them GT5 during BF madness.

Hell, I know people who are only going to buy a PS3 for GT5 and I've heard from some friends that some of their friend only intend to buy just GT5. Sony isn't in it to run a sprint, they are in it for a marathon. That has always been Sony's strategy. They even announced that this is the same strategy for the PS3. So I'm not sure where you are getting that information.

The last 2 BF has been mediocre. If you keep an eye out on popular deal forum such as CAG and Slickdeals, you can find a lot of good deals through out the year. BF has some good deals but they are a dime in a dozen. Experience penny shoppers can find a deal almost anytime during a year.
Depends on your budget and time. I end up not preordering NFS for 2 reason:
1)None of my friends care for NFS anymore or simply not interested in the genre.
2)The demo felt lacking.
As a result, I ended up buying MAG and waiting on GT5.

You're naive to think that GT5 will not move consoles. Maybe in the US, it won't pull numbers like 1 in every 4 but in Europe and Asia, it definitely can or even more.
I know people who are waiting for GT5 before buying a console and some who want GT5 that has no console yet. And I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people waiting for a GT5 bundle.
