Evolve may be a huge ripoff. But I would take that game over Order anyday everyday.
I saw some of that playthrough on youtube + the ending. I think I have never cringed so much from a videogame ending. If you like QTE, cutscenes and few gameplay section inbetween. Then go ahead.
I prefer games with no cutscenes or as few as possible. Half-Life 2 managed to tell a good story without using cutscenes, so don't tell me it's not possible.
There are still plenty of only single-player games with the factors you just mentioned today. Probably more than multiplayer games.

I agree that resolution is overrated, and I am a PC gamer.
But FPS too me is important, I want the game to feel as smooth as possible and nice flow.
And consoles still keep pumping out dem 30 fps locked games.
Yeah, because 30fps and black bars is something PC gamers are drooling over.
Just play Left4Dead 2 versus mode. I have like 200 hours on that mode.

Why do people think that big TV = better = fact
I personally enjoy gaming on my 24 inch monitor that has 144hz refresh rate and is 1080p.
It's all subjective. Big TV does not mean it is a plus. Just like 144hz 1080p does not mean is better than 1440p and 60hz or something else.

The Evil Within is a multiplatform game, and it got shred apart by many people for the black bars. Bethesda had to release a 1.5 GB patch to PC version to have the option to remove the black borders and 60fps options.
And even then people complain about no FOV option. People have high standards, and that's how it should be man.

What a bold statement. Crysis from 2007 on PC maxed out looks better than this, and it does not have black borders and 30 fps lock.
Wii U has more and better exclusives out in my opinion to this date, so it is fully worthy of a purchase. PS4 and Xbone have not yet released their big guns, and we don't know if those big guns will deliver, therefore I can't recommend those systems quite yet.
PC has it's fine share of exclusives titles aswell, so it's not a multiplatform machine only.

For me Max Payne will always be the king of TPS. And I have yet to see a game as revolutionary(Bullet time) and as fun as that game in this genre.
And graphics novels with good voice-acting > cutscenes and QTE.
