Zoe's explanation makes good sense. This is just an explanation for the grading system according to joystiq.

If you're going to go so far as to say that IGN/1up/Gamespot are respectable RPG Guy, then I suppose the 8.2 IGN score is wrong? Check Game Informer's scores, they're not absurd by any means.

Has anyone noticed that the title listed here doesn't match the title on Gamespy? It just is posted on Gamespy as another Little Big Planet article on the main page. I've read the whole thing and I don't think the writer even use the words hype, although he did express skepticism. I feel like this headline is misconstruing the point of the article.

If that is directed at me, that's quite unwarranted. But yeah THAT is an example of citing a source to back up information. How about Bruce, does his information come out of a vacuum or something?

Thanks for the disagree. Heaven forbid people use facts to back up statements. /sarcasm

If I were an expert in any intellectual field, would it be okay to constantly cite myself? All the links lead to previous articles which oddly enough, don't cite any sources. Actually, it would be helpful to cite anything at some point, otherwise people could post ridiculous things on blogs such as that the world is flat, or that Big Foot was found today. In other words, it would be nice to establish some credibility at some point in time.

I lost quite a few brain cells reading this.

My bad. Well then, when that rebate was available 300 bucks for the whole package would've been one sweet deal.

You have to purchase the controllers and cables separately. Still a pretty good deal. No matter how you look at it, it's cheaper than getting a 360 Elite at the store.

Why are people disagreeing with this comment? 7 people LIKE Jack Thompson? What a sad, sad day.

Kind of like a litmus test, just see how many disagrees this comment gets as well.

Oh no! Look at those disagrees! Which one of my points did you not like? Guess I'll never know.

Bruce doesn't really need to write a disclaimer at the beginning, instead he should just stand by what he has written or just get on with the damn article. After reading the whole post, I'm not exactly sure he is impartial.

"Analysts and fanboys continually promise or hope that a revival in fortunes is just around the corner, but it never comes."

Is he implying that fanboys and analysts are the same thing?

Well the nice feature of LBP, as stated by the Media Molecule guy on the G4 demo, is that you can adjust pre-existing levels for difficulty as you see fit. This game has the potential to be as difficult as you'd want it to be with user created content. Most important word there is potential. If Media Molecule designs the interface well, there will be plenty of "hardcore" level options to meet your fancy if the community of LBP is large enough to churn out the content constantly. The...

Little Big Planet is a little bit different. I don't see Neverwinter Nights or Far Cry Instincts reaching the broad audiences that LBP is capable of and neither would most games with level creators out there right now. It's the unique qualities of LBP, a lot of people have said that it kind of breaks out of categorization. Like what the original poster said, it provides that Spore experience, but with a different style of execution. Perhaps the concept has been done before, but this is a much...

If you're installing the whole game...and it has multiple dvds...that's a LOT of hard drive space.

Around 931,000 units of hardware in the Sony family sold. Not bad.
Nintendo is pretty insane though, they sold over 1.4 million of their hardware.

When Konami feels the price is right. Assuming they act like Square Enix.

I kid, I kid. It's probably not happening. Hopefully.
