It only released a year later because of of the lasers for Blu-ray not being quite ready for production if I remember correctly. The Cell chip might have been a problem as well. They were supposed to launch at the same time.
That's one of the reasons MS had so much momentum last gen.

Boom. I had a long rant on here the other day saying the same thing. PS5 will likely come 2 years after the Scorpio. So if MS decided to compete with Sony again directly and release a system in the same month, then people would have to buy another system in 2 years after Scorpio.

Well they can continue to throw games like Uncharted, Last of Us, God of War, Horizon, Killzone, Bloodborne, Spiderman, Ratchet and Clank, Nier, Nioh, Days Gone, Grand Turismo, whatever Sucker Punch is up to(Infamous????), and a bunch of other games I didn't mention. Online service is horrible huh. Wow, everytime I hop on Battlefield with friends IT WORKS. Everytime is hop on MW1, IT WORKS. Go on Live for Playstation and see all the streams. Guess what? Yes, MS has had a great year and I congratulate them. Competition is great.
But as usual the fanboy goggles erase people's memory. During those months that MS won consecutively wasn't there some reason behind that? Yes they released the S and it's beautiful and great and that helped.

Haha. This is why 4k isn't mainstream yet. Don't get me wrong, these are nice and I hope people enjoy them. But, to me (again my personal opinion), I can't justify paying that price for a monitor especially when it cost more than my 60in 4k TV.
It is good now that PC monitors can now do HDR and if your have a beast of a rig then I'm sure you will be in heaven. I know I would be but I'll just stick with my console. Have fun guys.
