The old PoP trilogy got so many things pitch-perfect (in many ways, my idea of a perfect game), the new PoP had so much to live up to. It gets a lot right and I definitely like the open world environment, but making the respawns completely unconditional and infinite was a poor design choice IMO. I also miss the multiple enemy combat and larger variety of booby traps. *still crossing fingers for PS2 BC firmware update*
Thanks for the insightful comments (and spell check), definitely learned a few things. Don't get me wrong, I still love my PS3 - but I'm still picking up a Jasper if I find a good deal.
Plus, how cool would it be to to have your character written into a DC Comics storyline? For me, it's basically gonna come down to their monthly subscription fee.
...when you're already collecting taxes on ISPs hand over fist? Seriously, this administration should've been ousted a long time ago. Establishing some baseline wi-fi service availability AT THE VERY LEAST (i.e. emergency/911, directory assistance, navigation, etc.) would be on par, IMO, to the advent of radio and cable TV and would help clear the path needed to make broadband internet access a basic domestic utility. By impeding the FCC, the Bush Administration is AGAIN showing its extrem...

...is completely irrelevant. If the reports are to be believed, the police shot an armed robber in self-defense, plain and simple. Escapist is trying to capitalize on game industry hype; the headline could've simply read "Police Kill Teen After Armed Robbery" - but how interesting is that? By saying, "Police Kill Teen After Xbox 360 Theft" instead of "Police Kill Teen After Xbox 360 Robbery", the author is (intentionally or not) making it sound as if the guy t...
...so long as Atari allows CDProjekt to retain total creative control and Sony gives proper support to the devs. What I played of the PC version was a lot of fun, with a great mix of RPG and action elements. One of the worst things we could end up with is a dumbed down "kiddified" version for consoles (even if its technical performance is flawless).
...I can really get behind! O yes I did.
Just looked up "analyzation" on Google. Front page results...
#1 - the free dictionary link cited by OP.
#4 - N4G.com, this thread.
Looks like we've just become one of the foremost users of "analyzation" on the web! Anyways, why so defensive? It's not like y- ohhhhhhh, I see now; you ARE Michael Krasner! I see what u did there. Very clever, linking to your own article!
...after all, you shouldn't knock it until you try it, right? I know that speaking PERSONALLY, after I've finished a 4 hour session with GTA there's nothing I enjoy more than decompressing a bit with a wired controller and a kitten, then raping some people. Very relaxing indeed.
...not "analyzation", which sounds like some ghastly medical procedure. Just throwing my vote in for Ac!d on iTouch/iPhone.

...but this is definitely one of them. It'll be fun to beat the game with Gondor, but I can't wait to play as Mordor - at last, the scouring of the Shire... at my hands!!! If I can snatch and grab Hobbits from my Nazgul mount and drop them from ungodly heights, this Q1 09 release will be my top candidate for GOTY. *now hoping against hope for real-time fire propagation a la FarCry 2* Anybody hear if it's gonna support split-screen co-op?
... IT RISES FROM THE GRAVE!!! Nazi Zombie mode rawks. My record so far is Level 10 (on split screen co-op) - you can look around and shoot while rebuilding! ; )
@ Mr Bun
Your powers of observation serve you well - you do in fact need a PS3 to play R2. Fortunately, I have a BC 60 gig with a 320 gig HD which I enjoy on a daily basis. Unfortunately, I also have a 60 hour work week which doesn't leave as much free time as you assume. As you may have noticed, R2 wasn't the only game released for PS3 over the past couple of months; between Dead Space, FarCry 2, Fallout 3, COD:W@W and now Prince of Persia, I'll probably end up trading in R2 ...
Don't. The co-op mode in R2 is a step back from the co-op in R1 in every way. Not only does it rehash the same maps THREE TIMES for each level, but it doesn't save P2's progress (so my mate has no unlockable weapon loadouts, while my P1 profile is totally supercharged, which makes balanced - i.e. fun - game play all but impossible). Even worse, it doesn't save your progress between the stages, so if you happen to die at or nearly the same time, you lose all your previous progress and start...
since that was the main reason I bought the game. Oh well - as long as the single player lives up to the hype, I won't feel too burned.
My heart goes out to his parents. I can understand their need to find SOMEBODY accountable for their son's death and it seems that they're resigned to the fact that - although some responsibility may lie with themselves, the game industry, and even Brandon himself - NOBODY could have foreseen this sad ending. R.I.P. Brandon.
The article is a complete waste of time - save your two or three minutes by spending the twenty seconds or so reading this post - you can thank me later. The writer has no insight or useful observations. Spends the first half of the article comparing R2 with Gears 2, Fallout 3 & Dead Space, and then off-handedly mentions near the end that he hasn't even tried any of the multiplayer modes and that he'll be back with the "full review" next week. Oh boy. I can't wait.
*zing!* lol Nice one! Can't wait for the next NFS... can you imagine? Burnout with cops! XD
