Only a matter of time till this spreads to other things as well. Trading card games will end up being effected, because they are no different then loot boxes. Only a matter of time till this gets reversed when players are outraged they can't get extras anymore, while the rest of the world gets to get them.
Then that would only further set it self away from gambling. Cards in a physical game end up having a value on the items you get, thus you would spend $5 to get a card that could end up being $1 - $100. And thats still not considered gambling.
Microtransactions and loot boxes that you get, you just get, theres no value on the items. So you spend $5 and you get what you get.
This debate goes further back then just loot boxes. Before lootboxes were booster packs in any popular TCG. Games like pokemon/Magic the gathering and this trend continues today with the numerous other games out now. Its never been catagorized as gambling. You know why, because they label exactly whats in the packs. You pay an amount and get a number of cards based on a rarity.
The illusion of gambling comes from the fact that you want something good from those boxes, and w...
So your telling me Blizzards Legal department also develops their game and fixes bugs?! Who would of thought they only had a handful of people doing ALL the things at blizzard.
7 million players with 3.5 million being hackers/cheaters.
I feel like no one read the original article by PC Gamer.
THEY DONT CARE THAT THEY ARE MAKING A BATTLE ROYALE GAME. Stop claiming they are.
Playerunknown is the one who worked with H1Z1 and was the original maker of the battle royale mod for ArmA 3. So hes really only copying himself.
They never said they are copyrighting a game mode. They have no problems with competition. The problem is that Epic games is not making a unique battle royale game, its basically a copy.
Bluehole did another interview and said it wasnt about them making a battle royale game.
Bluehole did another interview and said it wasnt about them making a battle royale game. They dont mind battleroyale games. They only have an issue with Epic taking PUBG and making a copy of it for fortnite. They aren't trying to make it its own game, and thats is the problem.
DayZ started a zombie Mod of survival. Not a battle royale pitting players against each other/.
Except DayZ was more a Zombie mod then a battle royale mod against other players.
nX...you do know D2 is a bungee game right? Activison is just the publisher.
Not sure why people would expect it to come to steam when they already announced they are using blizzard to handle this. why would they divide it between to launchers? that makes no sense.
A server is not. The issue isnt the server. Its the problem of once a server is created that blizzard property is being utilized on that server.
And if it wasnt for us outcrying and begging for a remake, there probably wouldnt be one. We showed our support for the original and for future FF titles. If they kill what made the game great then i doubt they will do another remake since this one would fail in our eyes.
What is this new age gamer opinion article? Like wtf....why would you remove elements of the game that make it a completely awesome game. The game wasn't perfect when it came out, but by nit picking removing things from the game story wise will just kill the game.
Or people pre ordered the game, and didnt get a switch yet because they sold out quickly.
@thekhurg They had 5 million back in 2015.
Criticized?! From who? People who purposefully remove all their characters clothing ON PURPOSE? If your gonna play like that i dont think you are in any condition to criticize.
