Based on the comments thus far this article seems to have failed to convey the initial point. We weren't criticizing Sony, we were supposed to be looking into whether strategically Sony intend to pursue their indie focused Playstation Plus strategy; that is all. We like the Indies but its undeniable that a lot of mainstream consumers see them as nothing more than worthless distractions, there is a reason why the majority remain niche.
As have we, I think Towerfall Ascension is probably our most played game this year! So many good indies, it's just a shame there is still a big chunk of gamers who won't give these titles a chance.
Can't argue with you there although don't you think Sony should have indicated as much? Those who don't keep up with games industry will be under the impression that PS Plus in its current state is what's its designed to be; an indie game subscription service with online play thrown in. You say this issue was started by 'noobs', but in this context, noobs are just gamers without much knowledge or interest in the industry itself, that doesn't stop it being an issue....
Teaching through video games has to be the future! I think you're onto a winner there! I myself learnt to read playing Final Fantasy on the Playstation, by integrating the activity or challenge into an interactive experience you can subconsciously encourage learning without actually acknowledging the true objective.
Loved the blog and I hope you have even greater success with this method in the future.
Why do people keep saying Smash Bros is on the list?
We hope it doesn't but so far the game does not look particular good, Sonic cannot afford too many more slip ups even with it's TV counterpart, especially while it's stuck on the Wii U.
I'd just like to say we made it pretty clear in the article that these were relative to expectations, 'Here are five titles we fear will fail to meet publisher expectations this year.' is exactly how we opened up our argument. We even mention that it'll outsell 99% of the rest of the market. We stand by our choices.
This article need images or videos to back up the commentary, Project Spark is not a game you can convey effectively in words.
Thanks, appreciate the positive feedback.
I got to spend about 35 minutes with the demo in question and after trying multiple strategies (of which most ended in death) I can say that once that Alien had eyes on me, I wasn't getting away. There's no time run, no time to hide, just death.
Oh I couldn't agree more! Unfortunately Sega just don't seem to know what they are doing, they have commercial gold dust fronting their company and yet they regularly fail to make any progress with the character in regards to his 3D outings.
Loved it, wasn't traditional, wasn't predictable and was a great 25 hour length, a bite sized JRPG is hard to build but Tri-Crescendo hit the nail on the head with Eternal Sonata!
