You know Starcraft 2 had an expansion in November? Legacy of the VVoid was a big deal, the Starcraft eSports scene is still going, much as it has for the last few years. It's not as big as LoL or DoTA but they still have big exciting tournaments.
The first Halo Wars and the old Battle for Middle Earth were great. Not as good as Starcraft/AoE, but a lot of fun in their own way. This just feels like a massive step backwards and I hope it doesn't kill the genre
Yeah apparently the beta will come to PC, so it'll be interesting to see how well it performs with a mouse and keyboard, but at the moment it feels like they've got everything wrong.
I included all of those except for Xenoblade (never played the first one and it's never appealed really) and the list isn't in any kind of order.
Oh yeah, this is a pretty good number considering we've still got E3 yet to come.
This is just plain confusing, but for those of you after the key, I'll be selecting winners and e-mailing them at 8pm GMT
Despite being disappointed I've been playing it every evening and now nearly all of today, 5-6 games I tend to stop as soon as I finish them, if I even get that far. The fact is that this game is fun, it's just not as good as we expected.
If we wanted 'click bait' we'd give something like Dark Souls 2 or TESO a really low mark. I'm not sure if you've actually played Spiderman but when a game based on an agile hero can't get movement right, has a constantly irritating sidemission requirement and pretty terrible writing, yes it's that bad.
Very irritating for reviewers that people complain if everything gets between 6-9 but then you get people accusing you of click bait or being bias...
I have played GRID 2 and really enjoyed it, and never felt like I needed to pay more to enjoy it. Most of the microtransactions felt like cosmetic things that I didn't care about, I could winn all the races with the cars that came with the game.
If you buy a music CD you can pay more to go see them live, or get a poster or whatever else. Often with popular albums there might be an extra edition released later that includes a couple of extra bonus tracks that you would need to pay for.
When you go see a film at the cinema you can't see all the making of/ alternate endings unless you pay to get the DVD, you have to pay a bit more to get all of them with a special edition.
All of these things are pr...
This is partly what I tried to get across in the article. I've played a great deal of Forza 5 and haven't felt even the slightest urge to buy anything with real money. Every time I start a new league I can buy a car at the top of that class with the credits I have, I also about an A-class car for multiplayer already.
I don't believe the game was made more grindy to encourage micro-transactions, I seem to be getting cars at the same rate I was before.

Out of all the launch games DR3, Ryse and Forza are pretty much amazing, Killer Instinct is really good, the multiplatform games are all fine -> really good (I wish BF4 would stop crashing). The controller is great as ever and switching between games is really easy now. The achievement system is also better with little progress counters for everything (like if you have 101/150 collectables there's a little bar chart). So yeah, gaming is much as it has ever been with a few improvements,...
The Xbox does get extra marks for all the things it does, because those are things we find really useful and fun. It also plays games really well - Our PS4 review will be out this week but so far the only games I've really enjoyed on the PS4 are Resogun and War Thunder, Killzone really isn't a shining endorsement of the console, After playing both in my home I'd go so far as to say I think Ryse looks better than Killzone.
I think both consoles have a lot of poten...
It's weird all the time I've spent with the One controller I've never noticed the redness. Maybe it shows up in specific lighting conditions but I've looked all around that thing and never seen it, maybe it's new or part of the beta/debug kit for some reason?
Oh yeah, it's just a minor niggle, but on the 360 you just press one button to pause the game and bring up the dashboard, if it's two buttons on the Xbox One it just seems like a little step backwards. I can't image all that many times where you'd want to leave the game running
One thing I'm not keen on about this is that when you use the guide button it doesn't try to pause the game by the looks of it, hopefully there's an option to change that
Oh yeah I can imagine people trying to win over PR people by lying about games, I just meant the pressure doesn't seem to come from the companies. I've always thought if I ever got an e-mail telling me to publish a lie in exchange for something I'd publish the e-mail, but I've never had one.
I think part of the 'problem' is that many games are of quite a high quality now. Loads of games are a lot of fun and offer fantastic value for your money, moreso than 10 or twenty years ago.
A '5' reflects a game that is average, not good or bad, just fine. To me this would be a game that works but isn't very exciting or compelling like some of the SImulator games. They're not broken, they're just not that polished or fun. When you start looking ...
Who knows whether the subscription will be justified as no one has paid a subscription yet, hopefully they'll continue to add regular content but that's an unknown at this point. For a game at launch it has a huge amount of content with full storylines for every class and job (even stories for the crafting classes) a fully functional auction house and guild system, two raids, a number of dungeons and a huge world that's actually exciting to explore.
Guild Wars 2 ...
Pretty strong hype. I love RTS games, I love Halo, and I love accessible RTS games that can get other people into the genre. I think with the lack of information before this I had got my hopes pretty high, then this has ruined all of that. What sounds fishy?
