I can't tell if you are saying this site is good or bad... But he is calling out the journalists you speak of to write better?! Right? Sure, it's a blog, but it seems like he's telling more of the truth than a lot of the writers out there for huge sites.
All good now. Link is updated and it's a great read.
The story was deleted until the morning. I'll update the new one when it goes up tomorrow. sorry
All of you are getting caght up in this and over thinking it. The writer stated that he loves gaming, but achievements give life to and continue games in a different new way after it's said and done. Like in Left 4 Dead 2!
Play through a level again in a different way you didn't even know you could. Nintendo is lacking in this dept for sure and everyone knows it!
I like turtles... And this article.
The writer never said camping was cheating. Just really obnoxious and annoying!
of the writer seems to be that camping is annoying in general. I don't like having to use perks just and solely to find campers. And sometimes even when I see them on the kill cam if I seek them out again they are waiting for me in a different section of the room and shoot me up as soon as I enter the entrance.
Where did the action go is the question? I can hide in a closet in real life and scare people too. It's just not fun.
I like that this story is balanced. It gives both perspectives - good and bad. Also, makes me want to pop Gears back in after being on MW2 overload: :)
That would have to be the Gamecube. Right? One thing the Gamecube did right was making that sexy lil' box look provocative! haha...
The embarassment came from myself, the player of the Wii, not solely from being "caught." It was the feeling I had for some time that made me realize seeing myself through someone elses eyes that brought it to me.
If you really understood the story you would see this completely, as there is no hatred toward the Wii. And yes, by hardcore gamer, I agree it is about the setting of the game and not just the gore. But the games I was playing felt too mentally one-sided. I...
As a games writer you do get paid and are offered free copies to certain titles, but I agree that my opinion is no more important than yours.
That's all reviews and articles really are at the core. There is a difference between games writing and actual journalism. For me, I'm a journalist that also loves to write about games. I also like to write opinion/story pieces on the side purely for the fun of it and conversational aspect(like this).
As for my opinion of the Wii? Well, I ...
He's not just a community member, he writes for a bunch of sites as a freelancer. Also, does reviews on Planet Xbox 360. I should know, I am him.
He's saying that he didn't even realize there were adult minded games when he got back into gaming. And he's not even really hating on Nintendo, but instead is refocusing his taste on something new.
Admittedly, you have to agree that the Wii serves a purpose, but really after the certain game genre they offer if you're really a hardcore gamer - you have to look else where.
I'm glad it's sparked discussion, but I don't think it's about Xbox vs. PSN. There are all types on both platforms and I'm speaking just from my personal experience.
I also feel that the N-Bomb is one of the harshest terms that seems to be thrown around casually in some instances.
I feel that word specifically, has deep roots.
It's about taking the best and worst from the series and fixing it for GOW3. Duh...
