Yes. The PS3 will be able to surpass its predecessor's install base very easily. In fact, the PS3 is already selling at a faster rate than the PS2 at the same point in their lifetime.

So many odds were against Sony. And yet, Sony survived, and made it this far, tailing only a little bit behind the 360. And now that the odds are begining to turn in favor of Sony, it's going to be very very easy for Sony to win.
