I have seen Pixar movies. It still does not compare to Ghost in the Shell. Pixar is more cartoony and Ghost in the Shell is more realistic.

Missing a few grass doesn't suddenly turn a good game into crap. If all a game needs is missing grass to turn it into a crap game, then Halo would have been crap too because Halo doesn't have grass.

The problem is that they're still in the era of PS2 graphics. The reason their games are failing is because the graphics sucks.
The Japanese doens't know that shaders exist. They don't know that since the PS2 era, technologies in the graphics department have advanced so much. It's time to learn. Bump mapping. Shaders. Normal maps. Defuse maps. Etc.
Just look at Tekken 6. Worst graphics ever. Namco used to be the king of graphics. Wh...
because it changed itself from what an old RPG from the PS1 days is like.
No towns. No world map. No NPCs. To exploration in dungeons. Linear all the way.
Go back to how it was in the PS1 days and it'll sell millions. Just take a look at Dragon Quest 9.

The game isn't even Japanized to begin with. Now, they're gonna Westernize it? That's like taking a Westernized game like Dante's Inferno and trying to Westernize it again. Really, how does that even work? Turn Dante into a bulky space marine?
How about upgrading the graphics?
How about making the animations more realistic?
How about making the collision more accurate?
How about making the AI smarter instead of cheap?
How about stop switching the control layout just for the sake of switching?
Madden is lacking a lot. There's so much more Madden could be doing. But instead, EA chose to just update the rosters and release it every year.
