That's still $680 just to get a bump of 10-20 FPS over my GTX 1080 along with some seldom used ray tracing. Think I'm good adjusting my settings down a bit and saving the cash.
Why is that not believable? Smart phone gaming is huge.
Good post. The sums up what is really the biggest problem with gaming enthusiasts. This ridiculous 10 point scale where anything below 8 is shit. The fact is that most review outlets like IGN and GameSpot don't see it that way at all.
Here is how GameSpot sees its scores:
10 - Essential
9 - Superb
8 - Great
7 - Good
6 - Fair
5 - Mediocre
4 - Poor
3 - Bad
2 - Terrible
1 - Abys...
"Had Days Gone been more experimental in this respect, it could have been the first AAA game of its kind to really grab hold of the popularity of story-lite or storyless games such as Day Z, Ark"
So DayZ and Ark are the games Sony Bend should modeled after? Most video games do not have incredible stories. Even AAA games. Even so, embracing indie games that are essentially MMOs for guidance as far as narrative is a bit absurd, imo.
"Drak...
I agree with that. Small indie games that really do not depend on crazy graphics are, ironically, going to be the only ones who will actually be able to make 8K games on next gen hardware.
"And, TopherMan said "but I think you read it correctly and I did not,""
Doesn't matter what I think. I initially read it the same way as Pricey. Think this is really silly to argue about. His take on this was just poorly worded.
According to Wired, Mark Cerny said the PS5 would support 8K graphics.
"(While the next-gen console will support 8K graphics, TVs that deliver it are few and far between, so we’re using a 4K TV.)"

Actually, not like that at all. That wasn't final hardware, just a prototype. The boomerang controller was also shown and it also wasn't final. Not quite sure what your point here is unless you are saying Sony is going to yank the 8K capability which seems odd. This isn't like removing ports to cut costs. Either Navi supports it or it doesn't.
It makes sense though. This was designed to accommodate those who created separate accounts. Going forward new accounts are already unified. There is no reason to keep this going.
Why did they disable this feature?
Edit:
Ah.....it is no longer needed.
“We introduced account merging for players impacted by lack of PS4 / Switch cross-progression. The feature is going to be sunset as it has been a while since cross-progression was enabled and account merging for those accounts went live.”

"Suddenly $500 is not expensive"
That depends. The last two examples of $500 consoles haven't fared too well.
Launch X1 was a mess being under-powered and overpriced. It was just poorly designed and sales were stagnant. So yes, $500 too expensive for X1.
Xbox One X never got the killer first party game that would have showcased its power. It provided little more than fanboy brag...
This isn't news and we still know only a little more about PS5 than we know about the next Xbox.
It means we will all have to upgrade our homes to accommodate the 140 inch TVs that will make this relevant.
I read the first part, "This statement is true for any console", as being universal and not just him and his reasoning being "best controller by far I have used". The phrasing is odd, but I think you read it correctly and I did not.
Is that what he was saying? If so then I just misunderstood.
They have had no reason to. Their only competition is game makers who created their own store like UPlay and Origin. Everyone else had little choice but to go to Valve.
aren't jokes supposed to be funny?
Someone has a buddy at GameStop.
